PolarisX 2.52 Released!

A quick release to fix a number of ‘major’ bugs that in our opinion could not wait, as they would detract from your user experience.

[FIXED] Network Profile removal bug.
[FIXED] ThemeEngine: If you switch to mIRC, MTS it should remain fully disabled if you restart now.
[FIXED] If you exit mIRC you should no longer recieve the “/hfree …” error message.

…and some other minor changes/fixes.

Get it now on the downloads page.

Update 05/11/2009: I forgot to add servers.ini to the release, you can get the latest version at www.mirc.com/servers.ini just place it in your PX root folder.

PolarisX 2.51 Released!

This release fixes a number of bugs found in 2.50 since it was released last month, especially the pathing issues, which should now be resolved and you should be able to install to a location with spaces in the path without issue, such as “C:\Program Files\…”.

Get it now on the Downloads page, this release is available as a zip and an installer, check it out, and feel free to post feedback on the forums or talk directly to us in #polaris on EFnet.

Update 09/05/2009: The problem with the download links have now been resolved!

A New Release, Grab PolarisX 2.50!

It’s been a long time since PolarisX was in development, the project restarted a couple of months ago and now with a couple of new developers working on the project as well as the original author [DxM] formerly known as DeusExMachina also working on the project we now finally have a new release for all you guys to devour!

Hopefully you’ll really like it and enjoy some of the new features and definetly be happy for the bug fixes and abillity to use the latest edition of mIRC (6.35 >) – this is also a good time to mention the installer does not come with mirc.exe and you must place that in your desired folder before installing!

Grab it now in the downloads section!

!!IMPORTANT!!: Some pathing bugs have been found in 2.50 relating to spaces, so please do not install to a location with spaces in the path! We are working on a fix.

PolarisX 2.50 needs Beta Testers!

Well time has come to test PolarisX 2.50, We are currently looking for ppl to test the script. Anyone who is interested in test please join us on irc.efnet.net in #polaris and talk to [DxM] or Nagdand. You do not need to be a scripter but it would definetly be an advantage. We are not looking to add anything new to version 2.50 past whats already their but we are willing to take ideas for version 3.00. 2.50 will be the first release to come out since 2.01 was released a couple of years ago now?.

So if you have tested before or just want to check out our latest work come join us!

It’s 2009 and Polaris is Back!

Hey guys, we are officially back and development has restarted on PolarisX, we are going to be releasing a interim release soon, version 2.50 while version 3.00 is still in development.

This interim release will contain many bug fixes and a few new features, such as the XDCC queue system, and most importantly PolarisX will be compatible with the latest releases of mIRC. If you could post any bugs or suggestions on the forum it would be very helpful to us in releasing a much more polished and complete script.

Come find us either on the forums or hanging out in our IRC channel on EFnet (irc.efnet.net) channel #polaris.

Links back up & more news

Hello.

So we were working on the webserver, but now everything should be back online. All the links are active and working.

We DID remove the forum, as it was only causing problems with spam and other complaints and more to the point: Polaris IRC has not been under development for about 3 months now. There are no scripts, no developers, no love. Until further notice (ie: an e-mail comes with someone wanting to keep polaris alive) Polaris is on hold. Now, I am not saying it will never resurface because we all know that it has gone on hold in the past when I (ephekt) have been in the same situation (without programmers). So who knows! But enjoy the latest stable release and I am trying to get the beta ready for release just so we can see what Polaris X looks like in its latest days.

If you are interested in helping Polaris please let me know via e-mail:

Polaris Update

After over 5 years of development on Polaris we are sad to see production slow down. Currently the main developer for polaris has entered university and is very busy. We have met a new scripter named Runn who is working on the XDCC/File Server system (yes it will have a queue system) however with just one developer who just joined we can not promise future releases of polaris anymore. If you are interested in joining Polaris and helping to keep it going please post on the forums or comment. Hope life is treating everyone well!

Drugs, Alcohol, and irc. Who says we can’t party…

I have to say that polaris irc has been around quite some time, and being there for its life span and growth has been one of the most rewarding projects ever. I think, well i know, we are turning in the right direction – with the launching of the 3.0 series beta we have been blown away by the high traffic and raising eye brows. We are happy to be back in the running game with the irc world and im sure with the next release of our beta (which will include our new and never seen before file serving system -_- ) people will grow even more excited. With that said, let us keep the news short: We have put up a blog instead of a standard web page, polaris 3.0 file server under way, and 3.0 as a whole is getting alot closer to public display. Thanks for visiting… see ya.

News Flash!!!

Polaris X v3.0 file server being worked on. Beta is out for our testers. Let us hope everything goes well.
